Nineteen year old Brandon Thomson hailing from Saint Cloud, Florida began racing in 2002 at the age of twelve in the INEX Bandolero division at the Orlando Speedworld in Orlando, Florida. During that first season Brandon realized that he had the desire and skills to make a successful racing career. Over the next two years Brandon turned that initial success to championships by wining both the 2003 and 2004 Florida state INEX Bandolero championships.
However, it was 2005 and 2006 that were breakout years for Thomson, as the youngster would move up to the INEX Legend car division. Those two seasons brought thirty-four wins including three of those at the Lowe’s Motor Speedway
Summer Shootout in Charlotte, North Carolina which were aired nationally on SPEED Channel. The following year the Brandon Thomson Racing team and driver Brandon Thomson would scale back their legends car operation to focus on eight starts behind the wheel of a late model stock car. During those eight starts Brandon silenced the critics by grabbing one win at Orlando Speed World.
In 2008 Brandon competed in the King of the Ovals Thunder Roadster series. He placed second in the points standings and won the "Race to the Top" challenge which awarded him a one race ride in the ARCA/ReMax series with Cunningham Motorsports at Toledo Speedway. Thomson qualified sixth and led 8 laps before a sway bar heim broke half way through the race.
When asked what he expects to get out of the Humpy's Heroes program
Thomson said, "It's a great opportunity to have many great insiders in the motorsports industry watching and helping me. It will also show how I rank against 9 other top drivers in the country who are all trying to make it to NASCAR. Also, the media training is teaching me great skills that most drivers don't know before they get in front of reporters."
