I started racing when I was eight years old, and was inspired and supported by my dad and grandfather. I’ve been competitive in Quarter Midgets, Bandoleros, Legends, and now in the Late Model. I have won championships in Quarter Midgets, Bandoleros, and two track championships at Atlanta Motor Speedway and Lainer Speedway in the Legends car. Through racing I’ve not only learned mechanical and driving skills, but have also developed respect for other people. A great race car driver is not only a great competitor, but also shows respect for other race car drivers, his team, and most important, his fans. A great race car driver that inspired me is Dale Earnhardt because of his great driving skills, the way he treated other people, and the way he lived his life on and off the track. Ralph Waldo Emerson said, "Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail." I believe Humpy’s Heroes is the path that will help me pursue my dream to become a great NASCAR champion, go where others have never dared to go, and impact the lives of others along the way. |
